Beautiful skin is something many people long for. However, if you suffer from acne or other blemishes, you may think that smooth, unmarred skin is out of your grasp. This is where dermatologists come in. They have the skills and training to help diagnose your skin related issues, so you can hopefully get them cleared up. A visit with the dermatologist can be relatively expensive, and if you have no insurance you may think you can't afford it. Use this information to learn more about how to make your dermatologist visit, like a trip to the Billings Clinic, more affordable.
Be Willing To Travel
If you want to find an affordable dermatologist, you need to be willing to travel. As with most goods and services, the cost to see a dermatologist varies depending upon where you go. You may find making your appointment with a dermatologist in an adjacent town could be the key to saving.
The reason why there is a relatively wide gap in the prices charged by dermatologists is because of the difference in the cost of living. If you live in a large, urban city, your dermatologist may be paying a mint to lease rental space. To cover this expense, they will typically have to pass the cost on to the customer.
Going to see a dermatologist in a town with a less expensive cost of living could help make your bill more affordable. You should check around with clinics in bordering cities by calling and asking about the price of a standard office visit so you can get a feel for the price difference.
Seek Out A Pro Bono Dermatologist
There are a number of dermatologists who are aware that imperfect skin can affect how patients feel in their everyday life. They also understand that not everyone has the money to seek out professional treatment. That's why some of these caring medical workers offer their services for free.
Even if it's not widely advertised, you may be able to find a dermatologist who will help clear up your skin problems without charging you a fee. You should call around to various clinics and ask if the dermatologist offers free services during a designated period of the month or year. You may be surprised to find that a pro bono dermatologist is willing to take on your case.

When my mother fell at home and broke her hip, we all thought that we were going to have no choice to put her in a nursing home when she got out of the hospital. My mother had always asked us kids to avoid putting her in any kind of home, but we didn’t know what else we could do. None of us were capable of giving her the kind of rehabilitation and care that she needed. Then her doctor suggested that we find out if her insurance covered in-home care. I didn’t even know that that was an option. I was pleased to discover that in-home care was covered by her plan. Now she gets great care from nurses and nurse assistants that come right to her in her home, where she wants to be. It’s a great option, and I’m so glad we have it.
