3 Tips For Representing Yourself Online During A Job Search

Health & Medical Blog

If you are currently searching for employment within the healthcare field, here are three tips to utilize that will help you find a job within your desired field.

Put Your Resume Up Online

One of the first things that you are going to want to do is post your resume online. You can post your resume online on a generic job searching site, such as LinkedIn or CareerBuilder, as well as a more health-care focused job searching site.

When you put your resume up online, make sure that you include a way for a potential employer to contact you. You don't have to put your personal phone number up on your resume; you can put your email address or a Skype or Google-type phone number on your resume. You just want to make sure that potential employers can get a hold of you.

Next, you want to make sure that you include the right keywords on your resume. Make sure that you detail all of the special training and certifications that you have obtained in your field. Include all software and systems that you are trained in. Write down any special experience you have. Read job postings and see what traits companies are looking for in employees and include those key words on your resume as well.

Opt In For Job Alerts

Sign up on multiple job search sites that are specific to the health care field as well as some more general ones. On each of these jobs searching sites, sign up for the job alerts. This will allow an alert to be sent to your email each time a job is posted that meets the keywords that you are interesting in. This will help cut down on the amount of time that you spend searching on each site looking for a new healthcare job. This will allow you to use your time more wisely.

Clean Up Your Social Media Presence

Next, clean up your social media presence. Many employers will take a look at your Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other social media sites that are associated with your name. Take some time to clean up these sites so that they reflect your professionalism and training. Limit who can access what you post on Facebook. Make sure that your LinkedIn reflects your current skill set. Make sure that you are putting a good professional representation out into the public of yourself.

Lastly, check out companies like SOS Healthcare Staffing to find available healthcare jobs.

Outstanding In-Home Care

When my mother fell at home and broke her hip, we all thought that we were going to have no choice to put her in a nursing home when she got out of the hospital. My mother had always asked us kids to avoid putting her in any kind of home, but we didn’t know what else we could do. None of us were capable of giving her the kind of rehabilitation and care that she needed. Then her doctor suggested that we find out if her insurance covered in-home care. I didn’t even know that that was an option. I was pleased to discover that in-home care was covered by her plan. Now she gets great care from nurses and nurse assistants that come right to her in her home, where she wants to be. It’s a great option, and I’m so glad we have it.
