If you're not familiar with reiki, it's a hands-on Japanese therapy designed for managing stress and encouraging relaxation. It is a spiritual practice designed to increase positive energy and encourage improvements in mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being. For those who are new to reiki, you might wonder how it could actually help you. Here's a look at a few of the benefits that you might get from pursuing reiki therapy.
For those with chronic pain conditions and inflammation, reiki is a great solution for managing that discomfort. Reiki treatment can help to stimulate the body's natural responses to help soothe the inflammation that causes pain. You'll find that reiki can help to ease your pain much the same way that massage therapy can, but in a more enhanced way because it also helps to boost the feel-good chemicals in your brain, which eases pain as well.
Increases Your Body's White Blood Cell Count
Your white blood cells are a crucial part of your body's immune system response. The more white blood cells you have, the stronger your immune system is going to be. Because reiki helps to encourage relaxation and overall peace, your body is able to put more energy and focus on white blood cell production to ensure your overall well-being.
Calms Your Negative Emotions
Reiki therapy is designed to target the parts of the body and the brain that produce chemicals to manage stress and negative emotions. If you struggle with mood trouble, anxiety, or other mood problems, reiki may be an ideal solution. When you clear your mind and your emotions with reiki, you will feel centered and grounded again, and able to look at things from a clearer perspective.
Promotes Better Sleep
Few things can disrupt your sleep quite like stress and physical ailments. The relaxation and ease that reiki will promote can encourage better, more restful sleep as well. If you're struggling with broken sleep, difficulty falling asleep, or other similar issues, talk with a reiki practitioner about your concerns and ask about trying a treatment.
No matter what you're struggling with, whether it's physical or emotional, reiki can offer you a host of benefits. Understanding how this therapy can help you will make it easier for you to decide whether or not it's the right choice for your needs. When my mother fell at home and broke her hip, we all thought that we were going to have no choice to put her in a nursing home when she got out of the hospital. My mother had always asked us kids to avoid putting her in any kind of home, but we didn’t know what else we could do. None of us were capable of giving her the kind of rehabilitation and care that she needed. Then her doctor suggested that we find out if her insurance covered in-home care. I didn’t even know that that was an option. I was pleased to discover that in-home care was covered by her plan. Now she gets great care from nurses and nurse assistants that come right to her in her home, where she wants to be. It’s a great option, and I’m so glad we have it.
